LeBron James is making the most of his summer by attending events, traveling, and fulfilling brand commitments. He made headlines in France after waving the flag at the ‘24 hours of Le Mans‘ and also appeared in the Louis Vuitton spring menswear show with his wife, Savannah. However, despite his busy schedule, LeBron always makes time for his family. The King recently took to Instagram to congratulate his son on his new USC threads.

Recently, LeBron James’ eldest son, Bronny, committed to USC and became the first member from his father’s side of the family to attend college. LeBron Raymone James Jr., who assumed his nickname ‘Bronny’ to evade the superstardom of his legendary father and build his own identity, seems to have changed his mind. In his new jersey for USC, Bronny has chosen to go with ‘James Jr’ on his back.
LeBron James shares his son’s college jersey
In May, LeBron was ecstatic and proud to see his son commit to the University of Southern California. Bronny is set to be part of the Trojans’ basketball team as a point guard, before declaring for the NBA draft.
Before starting his college stint, the 18-year-old posted the new jersey on social media to show his fans his new college look. His superstar father soon followed suit on his Instagram with a message to Bronny. “Let’s go 6!!!!!! I love it @Bronny[Prince emoji],” LeBron wrote in the caption. Here is the story:

It’s interesting to see Bronny don the number 6 jersey, the same number his father wears for the Los Angeles Lakers. He has also decided to ditch the name ‘Bronny’ and wear the more traditional ‘James Jr.’ on his jersey. Either way, LeBron is a proud father who can barely wait to see his son succeed on the biggest stages, and preferable one day share the NBA court with him.
Why does the King wear Number 6?
LeBron James wore the number 23(like his idol MJ) to start his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers before switching to 6 while joining the Miami Heat. As the number 23 was retired in Miami, James had to switch to a different number in 2010.The reason for switching to number 6, as per LeBron, is that it provides a lot of meaning to him and his family.
His son Bronny was born on the 6th of October. The superstar also won an Olympic gold medal wearing the Number 6 on his back. Though, there could be other reasons from his personal life that could have prompted the decision, the above two played an important role.
