Anthony Davis was told by a slew of media members prior to the 2022-23 NBA season that he had to step up and out of LeBron James’ shadow for the Los Angeles Lakers to be successful this year. James, who is close to being 38 years old, simply cannot be the best player on a championship squad any longer.

Well, it looks like Davis took these comments in stride as into the quarter mark of the season, he’s been playing like more than just an All-Star. He’s finally accepted his role as a center after years of trying to be a power forward and has had the Lakers offense thriving.
In these past 9 games, the purple and gold have gone 7-2 and are on the surge. In those 9 games, they have posted up an offensive rating of 118.2 and a defensive rating of 110.2, placing them firmly in the top 7 for both categories.
Aaron Rodgers wanted Anthony Davis to drop 30, not 40.
Everything the Lakers are currently doing well in stems from the fact that Anthony Davis is playing like his old self again. In some aspects, he’s playing better. His roll to the rims have been more aggressive than ever and he’s finally finding his stroke from the mid-range, especially tonight.
He dropped 44 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots, out-dueling Giannis Antetokounmpo on both ends of the floor. Prior to the game however, Wisconsin’s Green Bay Packers star, Aaron Rodgers, was seen in the tunnel with AD.
It was revealed that Davis was told by the Hall-of-Fame QB that he needed to drop 30 points. After ‘The Brow’ messed around and was 6 points away from 50, Rodgers hilariously told him he asked for 30 not 40.
Diehard Packers fan Anthony Davis spent time with Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers and WR Randall Cobb after the game. He said Rodgers told him pregame, “I need 30 from you tonight.” Afterwards, Rodgers said, “I said 30, not 40!” pic.twitter.com/FID5gXJ3ok

Anthony Davis is a massive Green Bay Packers fan
Despite growing up in Chicago, Anthony Davis has adopted the Green Bay Packers as his favorite team in the NFL. He’s a die-hard fan of the team and of Aaron Rodgers and even forced a game against the Spurs to end before OT just so he could go watch the Packers game that was on that same night.
A January 2020 Packers game saw Davis show up decked out in their gear. This is where he established his love for the team. Even during the ‘Rodgers wanting out debacle’, AD would go on to tell his chat while streaming that he didn’t want anybody to mention it as it hurt too much to think about.
