Kyrie Irving’s reputation for being a weirdo is going to take a turn for the worse after his latest joke with Kevin Durant.

Ever since Irving requested and got a trade away from the Cavs, he has almost always been in the news. And not for the right reasons most of the time. The Celtics started off with an 18-game win streak in his initial time with the franchise. But since then, injuries, disarray and discontent brewed in their locker room.
After expecting to romp to a robust record in the 2018-19 season, the Cs heavily underperformed. They were only able to snag the #4 seed, and succumbed to a gentleman sweep against the Bucks in the second round. This led to Irving leaving the Celtics and signing with the Nets alongside KD.
The Nets experiment is yet to be verified, but Durant and Irving seem like a match made in heaven off the court.
What Kyrie Irving said to Kevin Durant on his Instagram Live session
Irving and Durant held a joint live session on Instagram last night. It was a pretty dope thing to do, giving Irving a chance to interact with fans ahead of the 2020-21 season.
During the live session, Kyrie got perhaps a little too comfortable talking with Durant. In his words:
“We’re in a safe space now, right? We can talk to each other about, whatever? I think in my past life, I was who you are now. I was a post-up guard.”
It obviously makes no sense if you’re trying to take Kyrie seriously, so we have to assume at this point that he was just jesting. Kevin Durant and his facial reaction reveals just as much.
