Lakers’ big man Anthony Davis has been suffering from a finger sprain this past week and is on the injury list for tonight’s game vs Rockets.
Anthony Davis did not have the best game 1, according to his standards. AD finished the game with a double-double, having scored 25 points and grabbing 14 rounds.
Davis played through his finger injury in Game 1, but could not seem to find a solution for the gritty Rockets’ small-ball lineup.
The same left-hand’s fifth finger is troubling AD again, leading him to be named as probable for the Game 2 tonight. Davis has been affected by injuries all throughout the Bubble. He missed the Bubble opener because of an eye injury. Later AD encountered a sore ankle and then back spasms against the Blazers.
Is Anthony Davis playing tonight?
Anthony Davis still seems to be nursing a finger sprain and hence has been listed as ‘probable’ on the Lakers’ injury report for tonight’s game

Even though Davis is listed as probable, it would be shocking if he does not play tonight. His finger did not seem to trouble him a lot in Game 1. AD’s presence on-court tonight would affect the game a lot.
How do Lakers plan to deal with the Rockets?
LeBron James mentioned in one of his post-game comments that Game 1 felt like a game where they got the feel of the Rockets. The Lakers definitely were taken by surprise by the Rockets’ pace.
Lakers also have to take care of the ball better tonight. The 17 turnovers in Game 1 led to 27 Rockets’ points. AD recognizes this and said, “We can’t turn the ball over against this team.” The Lakers need a way to assert the height advantage they possess and turn to the stellar defense they had all season long. Reports suggest that Davis is planning to play as the center, a role he doesn’t really fancy, but since he doesn’t have to take on a big man, he might do it.
Davis also recognizes they need to use their advantage and attack the offensive boards more. The other Laker players also would have to clean up their act if they plan to take on and beat this Rockets team.
