Brandon Ingram has remained inactive for the last 13 games. In the duration of his absence, the New Orleans Pelicans have won 9 games and lost just 4 of them. The pelicans’ ability to win in the absence of a star has proven their might.

The team currently stands 3rd in the Western Conference and has a record of 20-12. What makes them so good this season is the balance between their front and backcourt. Willie Green’s squad is fluid, easily transitioning from defense to offense.
With the Pacers as their next matchup, New Orleans fans shouldn’t be too disappointed with Brandon Ingram’s absence. After all, Zion Williamson, who is having a sensational season, is expected to return from the league’s health and safety protocol.
Brandon Ingram to miss 14th game in a row
Brandon Ingram is scheduled to miss another game. The last time he made an appearance was on November 25th. The matchup against the Grizzlies saw Ingram playing just a little over 17 minutes before leaving the court. He was later diagnosed with a big toe contusion.
The injury was previously expected to be a minor speed bump. But Ingram has missed over a month of action because of it. Even now, his status is not completely clear and he will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.
Impressively, the Pelicans have managed to stay afloat even in the absence of a star. Ingram was crucial in their last season performance and carried the team to a playoff berth even without Zion Williamson.
Fortunately, with Zion Williamson returning, the Pelicans will fare much better against the Pelicans and are likely to register their 21st win.
Zion Williamson is no longer listed on the Pelicans’ injury report. He missed two games while being in health and safety protocols.
He’s on track to play tomorrow against the Pacers.
Larry Nance (right Achilles soreness) is questionable. Brandon Ingram is out.

Ingram’s stats in the 2022-23 regular season
Ingram has played just 15 games this season. And frankly, he has not been as impressive as he was last season. He is currently averaging 20.8 points and 5.1 rebounds. In addition, he is also averaging 4.7 assists per game.
This is definitely a step down from his last season when he averaged 22.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. However, he is shooting much more efficiently from beyond the three-point line. He is landing at least 46.7% of his threes on 4 attempts per game. This efficiency and scoring will be greatly helpful to the Pelicans once he returns.
