Is Ja Morant Playing Tonight vs Lakers?: Grizzlies Star’s Injury Update Returns Highly Encouraging Ahead of LeBron James Matchup
Things aren’t exactly going according to plan for Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies at the moment. Sure, when they were drawn up to play against the Lakers in round 1, most expected them to have nothing more than a little trouble before they eased past them onto round 2. But, as it turns out, LeBron James and the Lakers are in it to win it this season.
To make things worse, during this game, Ja Morant went down with what appeared to be a hand injury. And with Tyler Herro having very much broken his hand during an earlier playoff game, the signs weren’t looking very good at all.
All this has been running without break in Grizzlies fans’ minds. Which begs the question, will Memphis’s most vibrant star even be available for game-2 tonight? Or will the franchise be forced to try and win without him?
What is the status of Ja Morant’s health ahead of game-2 against the Lakers?
As we said earlier, after Tyler Herro’s injury, many feared that this one would also be beyond horrible. Fortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. In fact, it may not even be close.

As per ESPN, Ja Morant may actually make his return during tonight’s game against the Lakers. However, he has still been labeled as questionable, so Grizzlies fans will still need to keep their fingers crossed. But personally, if we had money on it, we’d bet on him being part of the starting lineup for this fixture. These are the playoffs after all.
What did Ja Morant record in game-1 against the LA Lakers?
In just 30 minutes played, Ja Morant recorded 18 points., 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals, while shooting 8 of 14 from the field (57.1%), and 2 of 3 from beyond the arc (66.7%). Morant did not attempt a single free throw that night.
