The Brooklyn Nets suffered a lot of drama in the off-season and early at the start of this new campaign. With Kevin Durant wanting to part ways with the NY-based franchise, Steve Nash’s firing, and Kyrie Irving making questionable anti-semitic comments, every analyst expected Jacque Vaughn’s boys to be in for yet another disappointing season.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Brooklyn has been a pretty strong team. After going 1-5 to begin the 2022-2023 season, the Nets found a way to turn things around for themselves.
From the end of November to early January, KD and co. went on a phenomenal 18-2 run, that included a 12-game win streak. However, the Nets suffered a huge blow when The Durantula sustained a knee injury against the Miami Heat.

During Brooklyn’s 8th January clash against Erik Spoelstra’s boys, Jimmy Butler had an awkward landing on Kevin’s knee while fading away from the basket.

James Wiseman and Andre Iguodala remain out against the Nets tomorrow. Anthony Lamb is questionable with foot soreness. Everyone else on the Warriors cleared.

Prior to the injury, Kevin Durant was playing some incredible basketball. Averaging 29.7/6.7/5.3, KD was one of the frontrunners to win the first-ever Michael Jordan Trophy.
The Nets will have to find ways to win games in their 12-time All-Star’s absence. If not, they can tumble down the standings pretty soon.
