When Jimmy Butler made the decision to make his way from the contending Philadelphia 76ers to the Miami Heat in 2019, the narrative many such as Candace Parker ran with was that Butler didn’t prioritize winning any longer. They claimed he wanted to relax in South Beach and run the show all on his own.
Fast-forward a year later and Jimmy Butler pushed the Los Angeles Lakers to 6 games in the NBA Finals all while being the first player in league history to drop two 35+ point triple-doubles in the same Finals series.
Seems as though the triple double bug has bit Jimmy Butler as he’s dropped 4 triple doubles in the past 8 days. For context, Jimmy had had merely 4 triple doubles in the entirety of his career prior to making his move to Miami.
Jimmy Butler grows tired of the Dwyane Wade comparisons
Jimmy Butler joined Dwyane Wade and the NBA on TNT crew a couple of days back to discuss his time on the Miami Heat. During this segment, a hilarious clip emerged of Butler growing tired of the constant comparisons to Dwyane Wade.

Jimmy dropped another triple double last night in a win over the Sacramento Kings, notching 13 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds. This made put him at 3rd all time on the Heat’s triple double list at 6. The graphic also showed how Butler passed in the process and not so surprisingly, it was Dwyane Wade.
The Marquette graduate took to Instagram to express his disapproval of the comparison to Dwyane Wade yet again, captioning the post, “Dwyane Wade this and Dwyane Wade that…. what’s next?”
