Stories of Jason Kidd cancelling Christmas for his Milwaukee Bucks players, amongst other incidents, have surfaced in a new Giannis biography.
Many remember Jason Kidd as the NBA head coach who ‘unlocked’ several aspects in Giannis Antetokounmpo’s game during the ‘Greek Freak’s’ sophomore season. Kidd made Giannis the de facto point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks while also putting a couple restrictions on his game. These included him being banned from shooting 3-pointers and benching him during mediocre games.

Fast-forward nearly a decade and Jason Kidd is long gone from the Bucks coaching staff (a decision that Giannis was not fond of at the time) and the 2x MVP is now a Finals MVP as well. The 2021 offseason saw Kidd be recruited by a couple high-class Playoff teams out West as both the Blazers and Mavericks pursued him.
Damian Lillard himself, vouched for the 2011 champ before eventually landing on Chauncey Billups. This led the Mavericks to snag Jason Kidd up in the open market. This hiring however, has proven to be more problematic than fruitful.
Jason Kidd has horrific stories of his come to surface in a new biography for Giannis.
NBA fans have known for quite a while that Jason Kidd isn’t exactly a model human being. He may be well-natured on the outside but several instances throughout his life, behind closed door, have proven that he most certainly has a short fuse.
There’s of course, the horrific domestic abuse charges that were pressed against him for putting his wife in physical harm’s way. Now, multiple sections in the 2021 Finals MVP’s biography lay out a couple incidents where Kidd was simply, not a decent person.
In the Twitter threads shown above, it’s shown how Jason Kidd took a measly loss to the Charlotte Hornets as a means to cancel Christmas for his Bucks players. Despite them having the two days off, he called them up for a gruesome, 3-hour practice, leading to Larry Sanders checking himself in the hospital after being berated at length by Kidd.
I read the new Giannis biography that is coming out tomorrow. My biggest takeaway is that Jason Kidd should not be be allowed to be around other people let alone coach an NBA team. The worst story is his response to a team loss on the day before Christmas Eve. pic.twitter.com/SYdwfX3t9t

What’s even more disheartening is that Larry Sanders walked away from basketball as a whole, following this incident. It’s safe to say that if J-Kidd continues to show this type of despicable behavior, he should not be allowed to coach an NBA team, especially one with a budding young superstar like Luka Doncic.
