“JaVale McGee is going to help Team USA out”: Stephen A Smith unexpectedly supports the inclusion of the Nuggets’ big in the 12 man roster to Tokyo
ESPN Analyst Stephen A Smith gives an unexpected take, supports Team USA’s decision to include JaVale McGee in their Olympic roster
Team USA just played their last scrimmage game, and they now prepare to make their way to Tokyo. However, they had to make some last-minute changes to their roster. Bradley Beal had to be placed in the Health and Safety protocols where it was determined he couldn’t travel to Tokyo. Kevin Love, who is dealing with a lingering calf injury, decided to withdraw from the tournament. For their replacement, Team USA named Keldon Johnson and 3x NBA Champion JaVale McGee.
A lot of people questioned the decision to include JaVale McGee. The 33-year-old veteran big has not had many impressive feats in his resume. People believed that there were better possible options. However, an unexpected name came to McGee’s defense. Stephen A Smith.
Stephen A Smith makes a case for JaVale McGee in Team USA
JaVale McGee, who was known to be a regular in Shaqatin’ A Fool. He has made his way to many such segments during the course of his career. However, in the last 5 years, he has won 3 titles and has changed the narrative about himself.
As Stephen A Smith made the case for McGee, he talked about what the big brings to the table. McGee, who would be a third big, alongside Bam Adebayo and Draymond Green. The Nuggets’ center brings athleticism, solid paint protection, and shot-blocking.

Stephen A brought up McGee in his ‘Ain’t No Way’ segment. Even though we did not get to see JaVale play against the reigning champions tonight, we sure can expect the veteran big to suit up in Tokyo.
