Jordan Poole’s $128,000,000 Contract Rated More Scarier For the Warriors Than a 3-1 Deficit by FS1 Analyst

The Golden State Warriors are down 3-1 to the team that came into the Playoffs as 7th seed, the Los Angeles Lakers. The loss was much worse than the scoreboard of 104-101 suggested. Even Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson failed in executing most things Steve Kerr drew up for them during timeouts. However, Jordan Poole might have messed things up even before the start of the game, and Nick Wright of FS1 thinks, his $128,000,000 contract is a bigger concern for the Dubs than the Game 4 loss.

The Warriors were in the lead for most of the game until 4th quarter. But the man looked at as the successor of Steph, got himself out of rotation in the third quarter itself with 0 points and 2 turnovers in front of his name.

Jordan Poole is a bigger concern for the Warriors than the latest loss, says Nick Wright

One of the biggest revelations of last year’s Playoffs, Poole had never had a scoreless night in his postseason career before the last outing of the team from the Bay Area. Also, he played just over 10 minutes in the whole game, which was at least 10 mins less than any game he has played in the last two years.

That might be the reason why Fox Sports 1 analyst, Nick Wright, believes his $128 million 4-year contract, which can rise to 140, is a much bigger concern for the Dubs than their latest loss.

“Something far scarier for the Warriors than being down 3-1 in this series…” Tweeted Nick with a screenshot of Poole’s contract information from Spotrac.com.

Can this post-season prove to be the last we see of Poole as a Dub?

With Draymond Green expecting a huge pay raise in the coming season, and Klay Thompson expecting a max extension in 2024, the Warriors cannot afford to mess things up with JP.

Whatever has been the problem, can be dealt with in the post-season to come. And if the Warriors don’t go past the Lakers, that break is going to be much longer than the one they got when they extended Poole after winning a chip.

Also, as Klay has said, that championship run wouldn’t have been possible without Jordan. So, we can say the hype that this situation is getting right now can be an overreaction. Let’s hope we see more of Poole in Game 5.
