Julius Randle is again having an All-Star, All-NBA caliber season, a year after he put up the Knicks back into playoff contention. Although the 2021 All-Star is putting up somewhat similar numbers in the 2020-21 season, the Knicks aren’t doing as well.

After a win against the Suns Monday night, they are now 20-18, good for the seventh-best record in the East. With the conference looking a lot tougher this time, the Knicks might even need Randle to play even better than he is, to avoid a Play-in tournament or a first-round exit from the Playoffs.
However, the 2021 Most Improved Player is getting MVP chants at the MSG.

Julius Randle gets MVP chants in the Garden
As Devin Booker-less Suns visited New York, searching for a victory and getting to a winning streak, Randle was the rock standing between them and a victory.
The 6ft 8′ forward put up 28 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal playing nearly 40 minutes in the game and left with MVP chants in the Garden with a 102-83 win. And Twitter knows what’s cooking.

Julius Randle is putting up 24 and 10 a night again 😤 Will be tough to leave him out the All-Star game if the Knicks maintain a playoff seed. Skilled bully. He’s looking sharp from all over the floor. pic.twitter.com/FZ840Z8Bbi

Would it just be another hollow post-season for the Knicks?
There are a lot of ways in which the Knicks might still mess it all up even before the postseason starts because they have that tendency.
However, they can save themselves by playing decent basketball and depending on Randle and Jalen Brunson, the 2022’s addition that was supposed to be the one who would unlock Julius.
So far, they haven’t looked as threatening a duo as they should, and not even for the money they are getting. Although there is time for them to pull their socks up and be one of the best teams in the East, they must do it quickly, before it’s too late.
