The NBA is not just a sporting league, but way more than that for most of us. While some may just see it as a basketball league, others follow it religiously, keep track of every change, and it affects them on a daily basis. Just like how all Cleveland fans were heartbroken when LeBron James left them to join the Heat, and the Warriors fans were in terrible pain when Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson got injured in the 2019 Finals.
San Antonio Spurs fans felt the same kind of betrayal and pain when Kawhi Leonard decided to not play for them anymore. One such fan was in attendance in the Summer League game last night. There he and his son spotted Kawhi Leonard, and decided to record and upload a video of his son yelling ‘F*** Kawhi’.
Donovan Mitchell and NBA Twitter step up and mock fan for Kawhi Leonard slander
The rise of the Internet has made people think that they can get away by saying anything. While that is the case more often than not, sometimes people forget that the Internet can backfire and blow upon them as well. When this certain fan posted the video of slandering Kawhi Leonard at the summer league game, he would have never thought the kind of reactions it would generate.
Donovan Mitchell was one of the NBA players who spoke about the same and bashed the fan,
NBA Twitter was not as merciful as Spida. They blasted the ‘fan’ and his son alike.
Hopefully, the ‘fan’ learns his lesson and does not shout slurs at anyone like this in public again, ever.
