Kevin Durant is recruiting Serge Ibaka to the Nets

Reports claim Kevin Durant is trying to recruit Serge Ibaka to the Brooklyn Nets to team up with him and Kyrie.

The Brooklyn Nets were crowned the unofficial 2020-21 NBA champs back in the 2019 NBA offseason, upon signing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. With less than 40 days left before the 2020-21 season starts, the Nets and their final roster is still up in the air. Multiple reports have surfaced claiming Caris Lavert and Spencer Dinwiddie will be on the move.

Along with trades, multiple stars have also been linked to the Brooklyn Nets. Everyone ranging from Jrue Holiday to Bradley Beal, to even Rudy Gobert a couple weeks back.

Kevin Durant wants Serge Ibaka to come to the Brooklyn Nets

The 2014 MVP and Serge Ibaka have a longstanding history together, the 2 were teammates back in OKC, when they reached the Finals together in 2012.

Now, with both Ibaka and Durant winning championships, KD believes the big man would be a great piece on their roster.

Though they have a solid frontcourt of Deandre Jordan and Jarrett Allen, adding another championship caliber big would not be detrimental to the team.

The one problem the Nets will face will be Serge’s contract. The Nets have a lot of players with large contract on the books and unless Ibaka takes the $5.7 million taxpayers MLE.

How did Serge Ibaka perform this season?

Ibaka was an ideal stretch 4 for the Raptors has he knocked down nearly 39% of his shots from beyond the arc. He also pitched in 15 ppg along with 8 rebounds per game.
