‘Kevin Durant is the best player on the planet’: NBA Analyst ridicules Lakers’ LeBron James for poor shooting
Skip Bayless refuses to see the light. He still firmly believes Kevin Durant to be the best player on the planet – over the Lakers’ LeBron James.
Bayless has made a career out of dissing LeBron James. The man could average a triple-double with 40 points and Bayless would still cherrypick his flaws and try to explain away his dominance. Whether he does it on purpose by faking or if he actually believes his words, it’s really hard to tell.
In his efforts to downplay The King’s greatness, Bayless has anointed Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant as the best players in the world at various points in the last 2 seasons. With Kawhi falling flat on his face in the playoffs this year, the pendulum on Skip’s balance has swung back Durant’s way.
Skip Bayless’s reasoning for why Kevin Durant is the best player in the world
In today’s episode of Undisputed, Bayless gave two distinct reasons for why he ‘believes’ KD is the best player in the world.
The first is that Durant apparently outplayed James in 2 Finals – the last 2 times they’ve met in the playoffs. While Durant did win the Finals MVP both in 2017 and 2018, he had a lot more help than James.
The second reasoning Skip provides is based on Durant’s accuracy as a shooter and his potency as a scorer:
“I’ve told you for 3 years that Kevin Durant is the best player on the planet and I will stand by that unless you show me he’s lost quickness. LeBron never dreamed of shooting the ball the way this man can from intermediate and distance.”
I know what I saw in back-to-back Game 3’s in LeBron’s house in the NBA Finals. The weight of the NBA world was on the narrow shoulders of KD and did he ever rise and shine. More @Undisputed, now on FS1 https://t.co/dNOcj5FmiM

Durant returns from a career-altering Achilles tear in December, this time cloaked in a Brooklyn Nets uniform. Only time will tell if he still retains his quickness and explosiveness. But even at 80% of his former self, Durant can distinguish himself as the best player on the planet – especially if James finally shows some regression with age.
