“Kyrie Irving can flake, James Harden can erode, Kevin Durant can pout”: Colin Cowherd puts out several of flaws within the Brooklyn Nets roster
Colin Cowherd goes off on the Brooklyn Nets, says Kevin Durant could pout, Kyrie Irving might not show up, and James Harden could erode.
The Brooklyn Nets transitioned from being title contenders to becoming title favorites overnight as they traded away a chunk of their depth at the time for James Harden. Ever since that trade, the superstar trio of Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant has taken to the floor for a combined, 200 minutes or so, spread out over 9 games.
The Brooklyn Nets roster construction is quite solid, considering who much they had to give up for Harden. Guys like Blake Griffin can spread the floor and attack the rim while Nicholas Claxton can bang down low and be productive on the defensive end of the floor. Not to mention the fact that Joe Harris is having a Klay Thompson-esque catch-and-shoot season from beyond the arc.
At the end of the day however, the Nets’ success hinges upon their trio of superstars. Colin Cowherd highlights the same in another edition of ‘The Herd’.
Colin Cowherd believes Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant can all have their off days for the Nets.
Colin Cowherd didn’t hold back up when talking about the weight on Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving’s shoulders going into the 2021 NBA Playoffs. He claims Kyrie Irving may simply not show up to games, James Harden may not be as effective as the Nets have a deep postseason run, and that Kevin Durant might indulge in pouting on the bench and when on the floor when things don’t go his way.
“Kyrie can flake, Harden can erode & KD can pout… There are nothing but playoff ghosts all over this locker room.”

Technically, this season isn’t a do or die season for the Nets, like it is for the Clippers. Brooklyn has all 3 of their superstars locked in for next year it’s expected that regardless of the outcome of these Playoffs, all 3 would return to the team with no fuss.
However, it would be an extremely disappointing season nonetheless for the Nets if they had guys like Kevin Durant, Harden, and Kyrie on their roster and managed to flame out against perhaps, the Bucks in the second round or the Sixers in the ECF.
