Unlike any other sport, there have been many basketball players who played at the greatest stage of the game when they were late into their 30s and even in their early 40s. But, no one did it like LeBron James is doing it.

Recently turned 38, the Lakers superstar is making it look as easy as it was for him 15 years ago when he had started taking over the league. The numbers he has put up in the last 10 days have been insane.
But his overall season, offensively, is once in a lifetime opportunity for us to see someone excelling in their profession such passionately for the 20th year straight. So, let’s just do it. Redditors look like they are.
38 Y/o LeBron James is winning games for his teams while averaging 25/5/5 for the fourth season straight!
LeBron James is on his way to being the league’s oldest player to average 25/5/5 or more for the fourth straight season starting 2019-20 season as revealed by StatMuse.

This surely would make NBA Twitter and Reddit go wild. Wouldn’t it?
To think historically most players are past their primes after yr13.He’s doing this in yr17-20 way past his prime.Incredible consistency that defies logic if you factor in his wear & tear of 20regS & 10finals appearances in 14 p/off seasons.

There was a lot of buzz for a couple of seasons that his scoring isn’t benefiting his team in any way but James’ game-winning performances against the Kings and the Hawks and even the 40-point ones before those two have brought a change to that, as well as the Lakers fan’s hopes for this season.
But can they hold up?

Is there any way for the Lakers to contend this year?
Currently, on a 19-22 record following a 130-109 loss against the Nuggets where The King didn’t suit up after the back-to-back games, the Lakers are now in dilemma as to whether stick with the current squad or trade a few assets to get better.
If they don’t do the latter, they might have slimmer chances of making it to the post-season considering Anthony Davis isn’t reliable to finish the season without getting injured again if and when he comes back.
However great James is playing he won’t be able to drag them to playoffs without AD and Russell Westbrook performing their best. Let’s see where the Purple and Gold go with what Rob Pelinka and Co decide.
