“LeBron James is not the best closer in basketball”: Skip Bayless Cites the Kings’ Inefficient 4th Quarter Outing for Lakers Loss

The Los Angeles Lakers managed to grab a win amid their 5-game homestand against the Rockets after losing to the Mavericks and the Sixers. However, LeBron James and co. failed to use the momentum in their clash against the Sacramento Kings.

Despite facing the Kings, who played with Domantas Sabonis sidelined due to non-covid illness, Darvin Ham’s boys failed to clinch a win. Thanks to De’Aaron Fox’s 31-point outing, the Kings will fly back home grabbing a 116-111 victory.

The All-Star duo of LeBron and Russell Westbrook had pretty solid outings, however, failed to deliver when it mattered the most.

“LeBron James is failing to close all these games”: Skip Bayless

While Russ recorded 19/7/5 off the bench, Bron erupted for a 32-point, 9-assist, and 8-rebound near triple-double.

However, James didn’t manage to step up when he was required to. In the final period, the 4-time MVP played 11:35 minutes and scored merely 5 points on 14.3% shooting from the field.

Skip Bayless, who is better known as an LBJ hater, criticized the Lakers star’s ability to close games and cited the same as the reason behind LAL’s loss.

Initially, the “UNDISPUTED” analyst lauded the 4-time champ for being the “best basket attacker” in the game. The 71-year-old would go on to say:

“LeBron James is still, still to this day the best basket attacker in the game, there’s nothing like him. He is a force of nature. When he gets going downhill at 6 feet 9 inches tall, 250-260, when he gets ahead of steam, nobody can stop him from playing bully ball because he’s ambidextrous – he can go left, he can go right. But he is not the best closer in basketball because for some reason he is failing to close all these games.”

LeBron’s 4th quarter stats this season

The future Hall-Of-Famer has been on an amazing run in Year 20. At age 38, the megastar is averaging a staggering 29.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7 assists per game. And contrary to what Bayless claims, Bron has been one of the best fourth-quarter players this campaign.

In the final period of all games this season, the King has been putting up 8.8 points, 2 assists, and 1.9 rebounds.
