Stephen Curry, Who Makes $4 Million More Than LeBron James, Eclipses Him In Social Media Views By Nearly 200 Million
Stephen Curry is undoubtedly one of the most popular athletes in the entire world. The way he revolutionized the way the game of basketball was played is something the league simply has not seen before. So, it makes sense when you realize that he’s one of the most viewed athletes on social media.
His popularity skyrocketed to yet another stratospheric level this past year after he led the Golden State Warriors to their 4th championship in 8 years. Of course, it’s not just Curry who has seen his name become more prominent across social media platforms.
LeBron James will almost always be in the news cycle regardless of his highlights or lowlights. Someone else who has firmly inserted themselves into the conversation for ‘most watchable player in the NBA’ is Nike’s newest signature athlete, Ja Morant.
Stephen Curry beats the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant in total social media views
Stephen Curry, who is set to earn $48 million this 2022-23 NBA season, has been watched across all social media platforms a reported 465 million times, according to Boardroom TV. Morant comes in at second with 351 million views and LeBron James comes in at third with 268 million views.
This graphic was posted to the Boardroom TV socials but was taken down for an unknown reason. The statistics still stand however. On paper, Curry is the most popular athlete in the Association by several miles.
Mind you, these aren’t stats for the whole year. These are stats from merely the first 6 weeks of the NBA regular season this year. So, despite the Golden State Warriors’ abysmal record, fans are still tuned into every single thing their superstar does on and off the court.
Stephen Curry is out for NBA Christmas
Stephen Curry will not be playing on NBA Christmas today due to him having a left shoulder injury. This is quite the loss for the NBA as showcased above, he’s the league’s biggest draw at the moment.
However, with the Grizzlies being as aggressive as they are, with Dillon Brooks chatting both Curry and Jordan Poole on the sidelines, the game will certainly be an entertaining one, even without the 2x MVP.
