“LeBron James makes hundreds of thousands per Instagram post”: Lakers star is leveraging his 80+ million following to rake in more moolah
Lakers superstar LeBron James reportedly makes over $307,000 per sponsored Instagram given his immense social media presence.
One of the best ways for brands to increase their visibility these days is to tie up with influencers. Influencers are those people with a high number of followers, and consequently, reach and visibility.
The biggest influencers are undoubtedly celebrities – they could be sportspersons, movie stars, models or entrepreneurs. The Kardashian-Jenner family has made several fortunes by making it their business to be visible.
Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) is reportedly the highest earner from Instagram, making over $1 million for each of his sponsored posts. Kylie Jenner comes in second at a figure of $986k per post.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest-placed sportsperson on this list, commanding a fee of around $889k for each promotional post.
How much money does LeBron James make from a sponsored Instagram post
According to this list by Hopper HQ, James ranks fifth among all sportspersons in money made per Instagram post. It reportedly costs $307,000 to command the service of James.
Neymar ($705,000) and Lionel Messi finish out the top 3, commanded by soccer players, which is obvious considering that it is the most popular sport on the planet by far.
David Beckham, who retired 8 years ago, still clocks in 4th on this list with a fee of $339,000 per post. Virat Kohli is the only cricketer in the top 20 listed by this website.
LeBron James and his Lakers team have the opportunity to go and win back-to-back championships this year. If they are successful in their bid, James would become the first player ever to win back-to-back titles twice, with two different teams.
Such success would take his popularity through the roof. It might even help him gain a foothold over the likes of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan in terms of visibility in Southern and South-East Asia.
