The GOAT debate, or as it has become in the last few years, Michael Jordan vs LeBron James. To most sane NBA fans, there aren’t many things in the world that are more annoying. And yet, as fans of the game, it’s not something they can live without.

Now, while the debate has raged on for years, most fans within the NBA community believe Michael Jordan is the winner. And while this really could go either way, it’s hard to refute the claim with enough logic to prove it wrong.
Yet, Kendrick Perkins once made quite the claim about the argument back in 2020.
And despite new factors having made themselves known since then, he still has no intentions to budge one bit.

Kendrick Perkins believes LeBron James surpassed Michael Jordan as the GOAT in 2020
Now, just because Michael Jordan is considered the GOAT by most doesn’t mean LeBron James was a slouch by any measure.
This is the man who has led three different franchises to the NBA title, winning 4 rings overall. And of course, he is also nearing the crown for the highest point total in the NBA, one that is currently held by Kareem-Abdul Jabbar.
Taking these points, along with many others, of course, Kendrick Perkins staunchly believes in quite the hot take.

It may not be the most popular take of all time but Kendrick Perkins may have a point.
LeBron James has done quite a bit during his career. And oftentimes, he didn’t have multiple hall of famers by his side to make it happen,
So perhaps fans should reconsider just a little before thinking about their latest answer to the GOAT question.
However, for now, James himself needs to set it aside immediately.
Why? Because the Lakers need to be worried immensely about themselves this season.
The Lakers need wins desperately
Tonight the Lakers dropped to a new low. They lost to the worst team in the NBA right now, the Charlotte Hornets, with the final score standing at 134-130.
Yes, LaMelo Ball was playing, but that is still no excuse. After all, this is a franchise that hasn’t even been trying to tank and still has a bottom 3 record in the league, with 9-24.
The good news is the Lakers still have a chance to make the play-in, with the franchise being just 3 wins away from 10th placed Wolves.
But, for that to happen, this franchise needs to buck up, and quickly.
Otherwise yet another one of LeBron James’s productive years is going to go swimming down the drain.
