"LeBron James watched Anthony Davis get baptized": NBA Fans react to Rui Hachimura's wicked poster dunk over the Lakers superstar

LeBron James looked on from the sidelines as Wizards youngster Rui Hachimura BAPTIZED Anthony Davis on a transition dunk.

It’s been a long time since the Lakers were in a position to truly challenge the league’s elite teams. Their win against the Nets earlier this month notwithstanding, the fact remains that without LeBron, they have little starpower.

Even the likes of Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroder are proving to be chump change in comparison to their opposition leaders. The Lakers ran out to a first-quarter lead, but they were brought back down by the Wizards in the next period.

Washington headed to the halftime break with a 6-point lead at 61-55. It didn’t take long for them to bring that pace of scoring back in the 3rd quarter. Rui Hachimura charged out on a fast break and dunked all over Anthony Davis for one of the best posters of the season.

As expected, fans have been merciless in trolling LeBron, AD and the Lakers for this dunk:

AD has been in relatively good defensive form through most of the season. The big man looked set to make another All-Defensive Team appearance this year before he got injured.

Even after coming back, AD’s defense has mostly been beyond reproach. There wasn’t much more he could realistically have done in this situation. The dunk was a signal, a veritable cry of help by the Lakers roster to LeBron James. Their leader has been out of action for 6 weeks now.
