Pierce created a stir last month when he excluded LeBron James from his all-time top 5 greats list. The current ESPN analyst included Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant in his list.
LeBron James and Pierce faced off multiple times in the eastern conference during LeBron’s initial foray into the league. Pierce ignited the rivalry by spitting on LeBron’s face in 2003. The former NBA champion also got the wood on James several times during their initial match-ups.
However, when the chips were down in Game 6 of the eastern conference finals in 2012 and Pierce guarded LeBron, the King sent Pierce into retirement by rolling over the veteran. LeBron played like a possessed man that night and started the downfall of Pierce in the league.
