"LeBron James would physically dominate you, while Kobe Bryant would mentally dominate you": Former teammate Coby Kar explains the difference between the two iconic Lakers

Coby Kar, a former teammate of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant explains the difference in the game, between the two Lakers legend.

The two icons were the face of the league during the 2000s. The dominance and attitude the two had, were off the charts. Both the players have had their individual as well as team successes. Their overly-stacked resume gives them a solid reason to be in tough competition with the legend Michael Jordan for the title of GOAT.

Players who play alongside either Kobe Bryant or LeBron James are considered to be lucky. However, there are very few lucky players who have spent time with both these players as their teammate.

One such fortunate player was Coby Kar. In an interview, Kar mentioned the difference between both these stars. Having front-row seats in their career’s, Coby revealed:

“It was just a very different time in their careers. But when I played with LeBron, I’d never seen anyone affect the game in so many different ways.”

“He could physically dominate on the defensive end, block a shot, get the rebound, going down in transition, and then dunk on you. Whereas Kobe did it in more of a mental, psychological way.”

“Kobe was lethal in many ways but didn’t have the same physicality as LeBron James”: Coby Kar

Very famously, the Black Mamba is known for having a killer mentality. He would often outperform his opponents by outworking and outhustling them. On the other hand, LBJ is more of a force. He would attack the defenders once he could.

Coby went on to speak about a few differences the two had. He mentioned:

“He was lethal in so many different ways, especially once that you got into the half-court at the end of the game. He was meticulous with his execution there.”

“But he didn’t have the same physicality that LeBron had and youth. LeBron was so energetic at that point, he would do things that – he still does them today but at that point, that’s just who he was and so useful.”
