“Let’s See If I Can Take a Punch!”: 7ft 1″ Shaquille O’Neal Gets Lifted by 5ft 4″ UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Zhang Weili
Recently, Shaquille O’Neal had a special visitor while he was at the gym. Working out on the elliptical, Shaq met two-time UFC Women’s Champion Zhang Weili. The Chinese professional mixed martial artist met up with Shaq casually and had some fun with him. Throwing a few punches around, Shaq learned firsthand why Weili is one of the best in the Strawweight division. However, the 7’1″ Lakers legend received an even bigger surprise when the 5’4″ champion lifted him up off his feet with ease.
Shaq is a huge UFC fan. An avid follower, Big Diesel prides himself on his knowledge of MMA and keeps up with everything that’s going on inside the Octagon. Aside from hanging out with UFC Champions, he regularly posts a ton of UFC-related content. Whether it’s appreciating a move Allan Nascimento pulled off on Tagir Ulanbekov or simply liking an AI video of Dana White dissing Jake Paul. Shaq is an MMA nerd through and through.
Shaquille O’Neal left stunned as 5′ 4″ UFC Women’s Champion lifted him off his feet
Shaquille O’Neal was hard at work in the gym when he was visited by Zhang Weili. The two-time UFC Women’s Champion popped by the gym to say hello to Shaq, who seemed pleasantly surprised. After exchanging pleasantries and wishing her a happy birthday, The Big Aristotle got down to business.
He requested the Strawweight division superstar to throw a few punches. Bracing himself for impact, Shaq took a blow to the gut. A blow that left him considerably winded. Safe to say, Shaq was impressed, understanding full well how Weili managed to become a UFC Champion. But, it is what followed that left Shaq truly surprised.
“Happy birthday! Hold on! Hold on! Let’s see if I can take a punch!”
Toward the end of their meeting, Weili asked the 7’1″ behemoth if she could attempt to lift him up. Shaq, being the good sport that he is, readily agreed. However, he was left stunned after the 5’4″ Weili, grabbed his leg and lifted him up off his feet with ease.
It’s a fun and wholesome video to watch. After all, Shaq is rarely caught off guard these days. Just goes to show, that size should never be underestimated, even if you are a 7’1″, 325-pound monster facing off against a 5’4″ 115-pound Strawweight mixed martial artist.
Shaq once tried his luck in the Octagon and failed miserably
As mentioned earlier, Shaquille O’Neal is a huge UFC fan. In fact, he once tried his hand inside the Octagon. However, things didn’t go as planned. Filming an episode for his show, Big Chicken Shaq, the four-time NBA Champion took on UFC Legend Forrest Griffin. It was a friendly match that ended after the time had run out.
For the most part, Shaq was trying his best not to get caught in a submission, and he succeeded. But, things went awry after he thought he had won the match when a female fighter surprised him from behind and put him in a Rear Naked chokehold.
As expected, Shaq tapped out. There was no way he was going to be put to sleep in the middle of the ring. After that, he realized that MMA was not for him, and he would much rather appreciate it from afar rather than up close and personal.
