Listening to Brandon Miller’s $300,000 Purchase, Paul George Recalled the 1st Place He Spent His $2,238,660 Rookie Paycheck

The Charlotte Hornets surprised everyone when they took on Brandon Miller with their 2nd pick in the 2023 NBA draft. The 20-year-old forward will team up with the likes of Lonzo Ball for the start of the new season. During a recent appearance on Podcast P, Miller spoke about a range of topics including the big purchases he made after snagging a $41.1 million contract. Miller bought himself a $300,000 Lamborghini Urus, much to the approval of Paul George. This led to George himself talking about the purchases that he made after getting his rookie contract. George was only the 10th pick of the 2010 NBA draft, and had a $10 million, 4-year contract. This translated into a $2,238,660 rookie check which he used for two huge purchases.

Of course, the NBA’s rookie salary cap has evolved over time. Currently set at over $100 million, back in 2010, the annual salary cap for the number 1 pick was only slightly above $4 million.

Paul George reveals his big purchases after getting his rookie cheque

Brandon Miller’s car cost him a cool $300,000. The Urus has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and starts at around $230k.

Miller’s purchase led to PG13 reminiscing about his own purchases that he made to treat himself. Still, Paul George did not spend anywhere near the amount that Miller did.

Back in 2010, Paul George bought a Cadillac Escalade EXT, which starts from around $64k.  He also bought himself a diamond-studded watch:

“I aint gonna lie. My first purchase, I had 2, I had got the Escalade EXT, I had just got those. They don’t even make those anymore. 26’s on them, black on black, I thought I was doing it. That was my first purchase, and then I bought this big dummy a** watch. Big, diamond out.”

George also revealed that he did not even remember the brand of the watch and bought it just for looks. He also claimed that he no longer had it, but claimed that the “brand was good.”

PG13 is honored to be considered the GOAT by Brandon Miller and Kiyan Anthony

In recent weeks, George has received a lot of love from both Miller and Kiyan Anthony. Both the youngsters claimed that PG13 was their NBA GOAT.

This led to George talking about how his only aim was to emulate the kind of impact that Kobe had on him. George was taken under the wing by Kobe as a rookie and received some top-notch mentorship from him.

Talking about being named the GOAT, George also said that this was the kind of legacy that he hoped to leave behind in the NBA. He claimed that he wanted fans to remember him as someone who gave it his all on both ends of the court, something that he seems to have already achieved.
