“Luka Doncic Came Into the Season in MVP Shape!”: Draymond Green Praises 23-Year-Old Mavericks Star, Talks About His Growth
Draymond Green is back with a second season of his podcast. The Draymond Green Show released two episodes yesterday. One was where he talked about the Warriors and his incident with Jordan Poole. In the other, he talked about Luka Doncic and other stellar players so far this season.
Before the season started, a survey of the GMs in the NBA predicted that Luka Doncic would win MVP this season. So far, the 23-year-old Mavericks star hasn’t let us down on that front. He’s averaging an incredible 34.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 8.9 assists a game.
Doncic went on a tear and finished 2022 with a bang.

Looking at all of this, Draymond Green had to talk about the Slovenian Sensation.
Draymond Green praised Luka Doncic for his MVP-level performances
Last year, Luka Doncic received a lot of backlash from the media and NBA fans regarding his shape entering the season. As the season progressed, Luka got back into shape and dominated the league, leading the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals. However, that wasn’t enough to win him MVP.
Draymond Green talked about how Luka played EuroBasket right before the NBA season and entered the year in excellent shape. Green shared how the talks for the MVP honors begin right at the start of the season, and if you are late joining the conversation, you might not win it at all.
Green also highlighted how much Doncic has progressed. He talked about how good that is for the Mavericks, the players, and the NBA as a whole. He then began to talk about the other MVP candidates like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum, and Joel Embiid.
Draymond Green talks about Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry
During the episode, Green talked about how Kevin Durant is back in the MVP conversation. He mentioned how Durant plays at MVP level every time he takes the floor, but because of his continued greatness, we sometimes take him for granted. Durant has been brilliant this season and had just led the Nets on a 12-game win streak.
Further, Green talked about Steph and how he’d been brilliant before his injury. Curry was averaging 30+ while shooting 50/40/90 splits and leading the NBA in 3 Pointers Made this season. However, the Warriors had a terrible record, which left him out of the conversation altogether. If the Dubs get their act together and Steph returns in the same form, he still has a shot at winning his 3rd MVP honor.
