“Luka Doncic is So Much Better Than Trae Young”: Skip Bayless Trashes Hawks 6ft 1″ Star Despite Double-Double in Win Over Mavs

The Atlanta Hawks have added one more crucial victory to their current record. With their closely contested win over the Dallas Mavericks, Trae Young and Co. have one victory over a 50% win-loss record. In fact, Atlanta was on a three-game streak before meeting Dallas and has extended it now to a 4-game streak.

It has been an impressive turnaround for the Hawks who were 17-20 when the new year started. However, in all of this, Trae Young has come under severe scrutiny from fans and NBA pundits. The source of Trae’s troubles has been the ongoing comparison to Luka Doncic.

It all started this season after Doncic increased his scoring output significantly. Pundits and analysts began to question the trade that had sent Luka to Dallas for Trae. Now, even Skip Bayless has joined the ‘hate’ Trae train with his latest tweet.

Skip Bayless lauds Luka Doncic while calling out Trae Young

After the Hawks defeated the Mavericks, Skip Bayless took to his Twitter to show his support for the 23-year-old Slovenian. Bayless claimed that Doncic was far better than Trae Young. He then argued how the Hawks would have lost if not for Dejounte Murray.

In his tweet, Bayless wrote:

“Luka is so much better than Trae. The reason the Hawks just won at Dallas is that Dejounte is a little better than Trae.”

To be fair to Bayless, Luka Doncic has been absolutely stunning this season. He is currently leading the league in points per game. Though, with a poor supporting cast, he has struggled to win as consistently as expected of a star of his skillset.

Meanwhile, Trae Young in contrast has not been that effective. Due to his size, Young is a poor defensive matchup for most opponents. With his offense also taking a tumble, this has not been the best season for the 6ft 1″ point guard. That being said, Trae has clearly established himself as an incredible passer. Therefore, despite his three-point shooting taking a hit, fans continue to support Young.

Fans defend Trae’s ongoing season

Loyal Hawks fans responded to Bayless by defending their star point guard. Most fans believe that Trae‘s passing ability on its own makes him a better choice but some also feel his attitude is positive and better than Luka’s.

Trae involves his teammates, the thing you and others have been begging Luka to do. We all know he could put 25+ a game cuz he’s done it since year 2 but unlike Luka he’s always top 1 or 2 in assists

the reason the hawks won is bc trae took high percentage shots and didn’t monopolize the ball, he got everyone involved and dj was also feeling it, after all, that’s why the hawks traded for him
