"Magic Johnson calls his dumbbells his first love": How Lakers legend and 5-time champion inspires millions across the globe with his fitness even today

Magic Johnson has an immaculate workout routine. The 61-year old regularly shares his workout pictures with his fans on social media.

The veteran played 13 seasons with the LA Lakers. Magic is widely regarded as one of the best point guards ever to grace the NBA hardwood.

In his 13-years in the NBA, Magic achieved several accolades. The veteran point guard is a 5x NBA champion, 3x Finals MVP, 3x league MVP, and 9x All-NBA First team.

It’s been almost 30-years since Magic retired from the game of basketball. However, the legend still looks in MVP shape if his pictures on social media are to go by.

Last month the Lakers superstar was seen doing bicep curls on the deck of his yacht. Magic has zero days off when it comes to his workouts.

The veteran recently shared some details about his warm-up and schedule, “I always start my day off stretching with Jessica before heading into my workout with my trainer Sven.”

The following clip is a warm-up for his chest day.

Magic’s inspiring battle with HIV

The 61-year old is an inspiration for millions who have fought a life-threatening disease such as HIV. Magic would have to take a premature retirement in 1991 when he had tested positive for HIV.

However, the superstar showed a heart of steel as he would battle the disease and return back to court for the 1992 NBA All-Star weekend, where he was crowned the MVP as well.

The point guard would then join the Dream Team in their quest for gold in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. The team would win gold, with Magic receiving standing ovations from people in the crowd.

Magic used this as an opportunity to inspire thousands of HIV-positive people.
