“Michael Jordan Never Let Anybody Down”: When Jason Kidd Declared MJ the GOAT For Always Living up to Expectations
There aren’t a lot of basketball players who have anybody above Michael Jordan on their all-time list. Old or young, opponents or teammates, irrespective of their gender, or the position they play, Mike would be there on everybody’s Top-5.
The Chicago Bulls legend was the 3rd pick of the 1984 draft, going into a franchise that hadn’t even won a conference Finals, let alone the NBA Finals. 14 years later, they had 6 championships, and the GOAT of the game – forever linked to the name of their franchise.
Since the day started making his name, averaging over 28 points in his rookie season and over 37 points (3rd year) in the season just following a severe injury, that 6ft 6” shooting guard never let anybody down. And that’s the reason why he is the legend of the legends.
Jason Kidd once praised Michael Jordan for never letting anybody down, and called him the GOAT
A few months before winning his first, and only championship of his career in 2011, the one of NBA’s all-time great point guards, Jason Kidd, opened up about his views on Jordan, reminiscing about their first game in the NBA, and stressed on why MJ is the greatest to ever do it.
NBA’s #2 assist provider of all time gave a simple reason for choosing ‘His Airness’ as his GOAT — he never let down anybody. Listen to one legend of the game speaking about another.
We fans see all basketball players as stars, but for them, other basketball players are just individuals doing their job. However, when you listen to these awe-inspiring interviews of the greats of the game, you understand even they were as big fans of Jordan as we are even after playing him several times.
Jordan will always be the Best
As long as we will be blessed enough to see the game of basketball as it is and not get any easier than it has already become, rest assured nobody is going average 30 points per game throughout their career.
If none among Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, or Kevin Durant could do it, is there any chance any of the current players doing it? I don’t think so.
