Most Points in a Game on Their Birthday: Shaquille O'Neal, Dominique Wilkins, LeBron James, and Stephen Curry Lead List

The NBA is a special league with a ton of great talents. There are some players that stand apart and make their mark on the league. LeBron James is one of them. Drafted straight out of high school, LeBron is now playing his 20th season in the league. He’s made his mark on the game and will go down as one of the greatest to ever play the sport.

Playing on his 38th birthday tonight, The King presented the audience with an incredible gift. He scored 47 points, grabbed ten rebounds, and dished nine assists while leading the Lakers to a 130-121 win over the Hawks.

As we appreciate the King, let us look back at the most points scored by players in a game on their birthdays.

1) Shaquille O’Neal – 61

On March 6, 2000, Shaquille O’Neal and the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Clippers. The Clippers built an initial five-point lead after the first quarter. Shaquille O’Neal took over after that. Scoring 61 points and grabbing 23 rebounds, he helped the Lakers cruise to a 20-point lead.

2) Dominique Wilkins – 53

On January 12th, 1987, Dominique Wilkins was celebrating his 27th birthday. On his birthday, the Hawks took on the Clippers. Wilkins scored 53 points as the Hawks took the win 125-115.

3) LeBron James – 48

On December 30th, 2009, LeBron James turned 25 as the Cavaliers took on the Hawks. LBJ did not disappoint the fans. He scored 48 points and grabbed ten rebounds as the Cavs took the 106-101 win.

4) Stephen Curry – 47

Earlier this year, Stephen Curry turned 34. On March 14, 2022, the Golden State Warriors hosted the Washington Wizards. Taking on the Wizards, Steph dropped 47 points, six rebounds, and six assists. He led the Warriors to a 126-112 win.
