‘Must’ve been exhausted, don’t think the ball is that heavy’: Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson troll Giannis Antetokounmpo over this air ball on a free throw in Game 7
Giannis Antetokounmpo may be a beast in the paint, but his free throw routine needs some work, from shooting on time to actually hitting the rim.
There was a particularly bad miss in game 7 where Giannis absolutely missed everything on a free throw attempt. Of course, the Brooklyn crowd let him hear all about it. All throughout the series, Nets fans have been chanting down a timer whenever Giannis stepped up to the free throw line:

You can imagine how bad the reaction must have been when after all this trolling, Giannis airballed a free throw attempt. In a game 7, on the road, that’s completely inexcusable.

Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson Troll Giannis Antetokounmpo For His Airball On Inside The NBA
As is customary, Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson and the rest of the Inside The NBA crew made sure to find some jokes to make about Giannis’ missed free throw.
Ernie Johnson said that Giannis looked “exhausted”, and Chuck followed that up by saying “Man he must’ve been exhausted I don’t think the ball is that heavy” absolutely humiliating Giannis in the process. You can see their entire reaction here:
They start talking about Giannis’ missed free throw at about 1:48 in the clip. The Inside The NBA crew never fails to disappoint when it comes to entertainment and well, given an airball, that’s pretty much a layup for them to make some kind of joke.
Despite airballing the free throw, the overall game was very successful for Giannis. He scored 40 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and had 5 assists while leading the Bucks to a massive game 7 win on the road. Milwaukee advances to the Eastern Conference Finals, only four wins away from a Finals berth.
For Giannis, he’ll gladly take the jokes coming at him about his free throws if it means that he’s winning games. However, that doesn’t mean that he should stay complacent with his level of shooting. In the past, his lack of free throw and jump shooting has doomed the Bucks and it could doom them going ahead too.
