"New York Knicks could genuinely beat Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving in the playoffs": Pete Davidson's laughable prediction in his appearance on Stephen A's World

Pete Davidson gets on air with Stephen A. Smith to make an absurd prediction about the New York Knicks after they confirmed their berth in the upcoming playoffs.

They say ‘you say something enough times, it becomes believable’, but this must be a serious exception. The franchise was considered a laughing stock just last season. Their front office was in shambles, and they were always in the lottery. And many, including us, thought this season would be no different.

The New York Knicks are the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference right now, above teams like the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics. We are so happy for Knicks fans though for the way this season has been.

The magic of new head coach Tom Thibodeau has injected some real confidence and grit into this team and made them arguably the most improved in NBA history. And of course, the leadership of Julius Randle deserves some major praise as well.

With everything that has happened, it would be understandable for Knicks fans to go a bit too far in terms of predictions for this postseason. And when he got on the air with Stephen A. Smith recently, popular comedian Pete Davidson was no different.

Pete Davidson explains why the New York Knicks could defeat the Brooklyn Nets if they meet in the playoffs

Pete Davidson is one of the funniest, yet darkest comedians present right now. Apart from his stand-up sets and SNL sketches, the 27-year-old has dabbled in other things as well. His recent movie ‘The King of Staten Island’ has impressed movie critics and the common folk alike.

Recently, he got on air on ‘Stephen A’s World’, with host Stephen A. Smith to promote his new venture, ‘Hit Job’, which is an Audible original.

After getting the pleasantries about the show out of the way though, the two started to discuss the Knicks. And as a native of Staten Island, Davidson had some really strong thoughts about the franchise.

In the middle of this episode, he talked about why he believed the New York Knicks could in fact beat the Nets, Take a look.

“They (Brooklyn Nets) also the most emotional team. Durant and Kyrie are kinda like, very very very emotional. So, I think if you shake them up, if you get in their head, I think it’s a wrap for them.”

Stephen A. Smith then asked, “Is that your way of saying the New York Knicks got a shot to knock off the Brooklyn Nets? Is that what you’re telling me Pete?!”

Davidson replied with, “Absolutely! I think with our squad, absolutely!”

It’s hard to argue with Pete Davidson’s ‘emotional’ assessment of the Brooklyn Nets. And perhaps if someone got in their head, they could beat this super-team. However, perhaps it would be a bit too far to say the New York Knicks could actually do it this postseason.

Even with that in mind though, only time will really tell how these upcoming playoffs go. And we must say, we are very excited to see how much noise the Knicks can make this time.
