"No Woman Deserves to be Hit": Britney Spears Strongly Demands 'Public Apology' From Victor Wembanyama Days After Security Mishap

Despite having not yet played a single regular season game in the NBA, Victor Wembanyama is already embroiled in controversy. The San Antonio Spurs star finds himself in a situation involving Pop icon, Britney Spears. One night in Las Vegas, prior to the start of Summer League, Spears who happened to be in the city approached Wemby and his entourage. Unfortunately, things did not go well, as his bodyguards backhanded her in the face. Since then, there has been a lot of backlash coming Spears’ way. However, she recently responded with a post on Instagram, defending herself and demanding a public apology.

Celebrities being hounded by fans is nothing new. Since time immemorial famous personalities have had to deal with a lack of privacy. And, this will be no different for Wembanyama. But, what is most surprising is how things unraveled. Especially considering it was a fellow celebrity and not just another fan involved.

Britney Spears has now demanded a public apology from Victor Wembanyama

Fans are eager to see Victor Wembanyama play in the NBA. However, even before suiting up for his first Summer League game, the man, dubbed the “Alien” found himself in a pickle.

The San Antonio Spurs star was involved in a controversy with none other than Pop sensation Britney Spears. The singer had approached Wemby and his entourage one night in Las Vegas and tapped him from behind on the shoulder. It is likely she just wanted to say “Hi” or perhaps get a selfie. But, the response she received was far more violent.

Instead of a polite interaction, Spears received a backhand from one of Wemby’s bodyguards. And, despite having been clearly wronged she has been subjected to much backlash. Well, the “Princess of Pop” has had enough and has now uploaded a video to social media defending herself and demanding an apology from the 7’4″ center.

“I’ve been with the famous people in the world. NSYNC at one time… girls would like literally throw themselves at them. On my way into the place, I was knocked down by like three 12-year-olds trying to get my picture. My security, not one time touched them or came near them. Point being is… I didn’t appreciate people saying I deserved to be hit, because no woman deserves to be hit. I simply tapped him on the back and was backhanded, hit my face, came back, on the floor, and my best friend picked me up and held me. And, I did get an apology at my table… 30 minutes later, but I have yet to receive a public apology!”

It certainly was a messy situation. And, while Wemby will likely apologize, it probably will not be anytime soon. After all, he’s decided to relax before the start of the regular season and has asked his agent to cancel all appointments and public appearances.

Wembanyama has asked his agent to cancel all events so that he can rest

Britney Spears may have to wait before receiving a public apology from Victor Wembanyama. According to reports, Wemby is now solely focused on basketball and has asked his agent to cancel all other appointments. All, so that he can rest and focus on the sport he loves.

Given how hectic things have been since he was drafted it seems to be a wise decision. And, with all the controversies and headlines he has made recently, a break from all distractions would do him good.
