“Over 15000 People Strong”: 51 Y/o Shaquille O’Neal, Successfully Transitioning Into ‘DJ Diesel’, Flexes The Crowd He Pulled At His Recent Set
Shaquille O’Neal has always been multi-faceted in his talents. A former basketball player, at the age of 51, Shaq is not only an incredible businessman but has also established himself in the music industry. Having already made a name for himself in the hip-hop genre, the four-time NBA Champion is now tackling EDM. Embracing his monicker of DJ Diesel, O’Neal attended a music festival in Texas, where he took to Instagram to show off his 15,000-strong audience.
While he is focusing on his career as a DJ, Shaq hasn’t strayed away from making waves in the rap scene. He’s been releasing quite a bit of music and looks better than ever. With songs like King Talk, Bodies Freestyle, and 3 Lokos out already, many are looking forward to hearing what comes next. But, given his current pursuits, they may have to wait a while.
Shaquille O’Neal flexes his 15,000-strong audience at a recent music festival
Taking to Instagram, Shaquille O’Neal recently posted a video of his set from the first-ever music festival he threw. Playing in Fort Worth, Texas, DJ Diesel flexed the 15,000-strong crowd that attended. It was a huge hit, as Shaq also expressed how grateful he was for all the love and support he received.
‘The Bass All-Stars’ music festival is just one of Shaq’s many musical endeavors and is sure to gain popularity quickly. His music festival aside, Shaq has been working hard on his music. Not only did he release his first-ever EDM album “Gorilla Warfare”, but also went on tour with his son, Myles O’Neal. A DJ as well, Myles and his father traveled across Europe, giving fans the time of their lives with their music.
Shaq pursued a career in rap because of the opportunity to work with some of the legends of the game
One would think that Shaquille O’Neal got into music for the money. And given how business savvy he is, it would only make sense. However, that seems to be far from the truth.
In reality, the reason he chose to pursue a career in rap back in the 90s was because of the opportunities it presented. In particular, the chance to work with legends of the industry including the likes of Mobb Deep, Phife Dawg, and The Notorious B.I.G.
To be fair to Shaq, that is an incredible reason to want to make a name in the music industry. Not many people can say they’ve had the chance to work with some of the greatest of all time in any industry. But, he is one person who can say that, thanks both to his career in the NBA and his career as a rapper.
