“Really Wanted Deion Sanders in Auburn!”: Charles Barkley Hypes 2x Superbowl Winner’s ‘IT’ Factor Hours Before Buffaloes Host USC Trojans

Deion Sanders has been earning much praise from the sporting community for his recent success. Charles Barkley appeared in today’s episode of the Dan Patrick Show, vehemently praising Coach Prime for overhauling the Colorado Buffaloes into winning consistently this season. Despite this, Barkley made it evident that he wished Sanders coached his alma mater in Auburn instead. This statement from Barkley came in just hours before the Buffaloes host the Trojans.

Since Deion Sanders took over as the Colorado Buffaloes’ coach, the team has transformed itself with its recent winning streak. Compared to last year’s 11-1 record, the Buffaloes improved significantly to begin this season on a positive note with 3 wins and just one loss.

Charles Barkley wished Deion Sanders coached Auburn’s college football team

Seeing Deion Sanders’ success, Charles Barkley was beyond impressed by the coach’s prowess. The Buffaloes seem to have had an overhaul since Sanders took over. They have gone from a team being 1-11 last season to starting 3-1 this year. When Dan Patrick asked if Barkley ever wanted Coach Sanders at Auburn after seeing his success, here is what Chuck replied with:

“I made it publicly and privately known that I wanted Deion [Sanders]. That’s all that I could do. I really wanted Deion [Sanders] at Auburn because I think wherever he goes, he’s going to be successful. He’s just great as a coach and a person.”

Chuck seemed quite pleased seeing Deion doing as well as he was. The two-time Super Bowl winner has retained a reputation for chasing success, which translates well from his previous coaching records. Now, overhauling a once-inconsistent Colorado side, Coach Prime has lived up to his expectations. Summing up the Buffaloes this year, Barkley said the following.

“I know what Deion was going to do. Like he has the ‘It’ factor. Like first of all, he’s a really great person. You know I think sometimesn we see people, their persona, and don’t listen to them.

But I’ll tell you man, he’s a great coach, he has a great staff. He reminds me a lot of Nick Saban. And I think Nick Saban’s the greatest coach ever. He’s not afraid to hire great assistance. You look at Deion’s coaching staff. I think everybody in the staff has ever played or been a head coach somewhere.

You see I think what separates Saban, a lot of coaches are cowards Dan. They afraid to hire coaches because they worry about their jobs. If you’re secure in your coaching, you hire good assistance, because you can’t do everything. You can’t run the special teams offense, coach the defense, coach the linebackers.

You have to hire good assistance and I think that’s what Nick Saban does better than anybody else. And when you look at Deion’s staff, everybody’s been a head coach in college or the NFL. And that’s why he’s going to be successful.”

Indeed, Nick Saban’s coaching career has been quite prolific, with the man having won 7 National Championships and 10 SEC titles. Admittedly, if Coach Sanders continues his coaching career with such consistency, it won’t be long before the similarities in his and Saban’s success get stronger.

The Trojans vs. Buffaloes game may have Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce

The game between the Colorado Buffaloes and the USC Trojans can expect the presence of Celtics legends Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

While shooting for KG Certified at the University of Colorado, Garnett and Pierce looked to speak to coach Sanders. However, they also ran into meeting Coach Prime’s 23-year-old son, Shilo Sanders. While having a casual chat, Shilo boldly challenged KG and The Truth in a 2v2 basketball game. The former Celtics duo readily accepted the challenge, and are likely to show up for the Buffaloes’ upcoming college football game too.

Furthermore, it would be fair to expect more star power at the game, given LeBron James’ eldest son, Bronny James recently enrolled at USC. Though signed under USC’s basketball team, perhaps Bronny and his dad are looking to show up themselves, to cheer in support of the Trojans.
