“Russell Westbrook, your reign at the top was short” Wizards center Robin Lopez trolls the Brody after NBC Sports Washington’s gaffe
Russell Westbrook and Robin Lopez have been great pals on the Wizards team. Both veterans have had impeccable endings to this regular season.
Russell Westbrook is having a phenomenal season with the Washington Wizards. The point guard has led the turnaround this season for the franchise as they clinched a spot in the play-ins with their 120-105 win over the Cavaliers.
The Wizards had a rough start and were nowhere near the top ten. However consistent performances from Westbrook has instilled a different kind of belief among his teammates. He also got great support from Bradley Beal as the duo ran the floor for Scott Brooks’ men.
The Brody has broken several records this season but the biggest one has to be when he overtook Oscar Robertson in career triple doubles. Russ registered his 182nd triple double in their 124-125 loss against the Atlanta Hawks.
On his return to the Capital One Arena, the 32-year old was welcomed with a loud cheer from the Wizards faithful. He was also honoured with a Wizards jersey frame with the number 182 imprinted on it. All these happened ahead of their crucial clash against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Robin Lopez took to Twitter to troll Russell Westbrook after a mistake on telecast
Coming to the match, Russ again came up with a heroic performance as the Wizards reigned supreme. The Brody dropped his 183rd career triple double as he scored 21 points, 17 assists and 12 boards. This will be the first time since 2018 that the Wizards will feature in the postseason.
However, during the match in the fourth quarter, Russ completed his triple-double when he rebounded a missed three pointer from Cavs rookie Isaac Okoro. There was still 6:35 minutes remaining in the final quarter proving the workload that he has taken on his shoulders in Bradley Beal’s absence.
Just when he got the rebound to complete his triple double the crowd present at the arena starting chanting his name. Amidst all of this, there was a hilarious moment on NBC Sports Washington’s telecast. They made a mistake and showed Robin Lopez as the All-time leading triple double leader in NBA history which made the fans burst into laughter.
Even the Wizards’ Center took to Twitter to troll Russell Westbrook. He tweeted,” Hey @russwest44 your reign at the top was short like something something #IForgotHowItGoes #MrTripleDouble

Although they have clinched a spot in the play-ins, their job is not over yet. The Wizards are currently 0.5 games behind the Indian Pacers and Charlotte Hornets. With their season ending with a crucial clash against the Hornets, there is a slim chance for them to secure the 8th seed.
