"Russell Westbrook's Not 6Ft 3"": Standing Nearly Toe To Toe With Paul George, NBA Twitter Hypothesizes Over Clippers Guard's Height

Russell Westbrook has found his home on the other side of Los Angeles, playing for the Clippers. The NBA just held Media Day, and Russ was spotted in his Clippers gear for the first time since signing his two-year $7,863,263 extension. The 2017 MVP was all smiles and enjoyed some wholesome interactions with his teammates. But this led to an interesting discovery. As one X (Formerly Twitter) user pointed out, Westbrook, who stands at 6’3″, looked to be almost the same height as Paul George, who stands at 6’8″. Thus leading many to question what his real height is.

Growing up in Los Angeles, Westbrook had one of the craziest growth spurts of any NBA player. In high school, Russ, who played for Leuzinger High, was a 5’8″ point guard, not exactly the kind of player you could see dominating in the league. However, as time passed, he grew considerably. So much so that by the time he was drafted in 2008, he had grown seven inches and now stood at 6’3″.

NBA Twitter does not believe Russell Westbrook is 6’3″

Recently, the Los Angeles Clippers concluded their Media Day. In the midst of all this, a video has surfaced showing Russell Westbrook having a wholesome interaction with Paul George and his son. In the video, Russ can be seen playfully joking around with PG13’s son, Paul Vuk. But that is not what caught people’s attention.

As one X user pointed out, Russ and PG look to be around the same height. But this makes little to no sense. After all, officially, Brodie is listed at 6’3″ and George at 6’8″. As such, this has led many to speculate if Westbrook is taller or George is shorter. In all likelihood, it is the former.

Even when he has been seen with other guards, Russ has stood out. Looking almost an inch or two taller than the likes of Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry, it’s very possible that he is perhaps 6’4″ or 6’5. But to say he is closer to 6’8″ might be too much. In the video, it’s likely that they look to be the same height because of the camera angle.

These few inches mean a lot in the basketball world. But whether it has affected his style of play in any way is difficult to say. Nevertheless, it takes nothing away from how skilled a player he is and how incredible his presence is on the court.

Russ has been doing his best to build chemistry with the Clippers this off-season

With the 2023-2024 season around the corner, the Los Angeles Clippers are a team to look out for. Led by the likes of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, they are certainly one of the teams to beat. One of their more underrated acquisitions this season is Russell Westbrook. The dynamic point guard is nothing like his former MVP self but still brings a different energy to the team.

Having struggled to adapt to the Lakers locker room, Russ is looking to do things differently this time around. As such, he is doing his best to build chemistry with his Clippers teammates. Not only did he hold his own training camp, but he made team dinners and practices mandatory. Additionally, he also gifted his teammates iPhone 15 Maxs in an attempt to build camaraderie.

The upcoming season should be an interesting one. The Clippers will be hoping to make a successful Playoff run and perhaps even book a spot in the NBA Finals. But, to do that, Russ will surely be an integral piece.
