“Scott Foster has a terrible rep against Chris Paul but nothing happened in NBA Finals Game 3”: Richard Jefferson believes refereeing concerns for Bucks vs Suns Game 6 are way overblown

Richard Jefferson is among those people who believe whatever feud Scott Foster and Suns star Chris Paul have is overblown.

It’s been a really great NBA Finals series thus far. We’ve seen the Bucks battle back from a 2-0 deficit to take a commanding 3-2 lead with Game 6 at home. Games 4 and 5 were both quite close, but Giannis and Jrue Holiday made huge plays down the stretch.

Those plays have become career-defining moments for both the Bucks stars. The expectation is that they will close out a pivotal Game 6 in front of rejoicing Bucks fans at home tonight.

And according to NBA Twitter, tonight’s refereeing assignments are a shot in the arm for Milwaukee. The presence Scott Foster on the court has already raised the eyebrows of several NBA fans.

On the surface level, these concerns look slightly legitimate. Due to mere coincidence, bad luck or some bias, Chris Paul has lost the last 12 games he played in which Foster was the referee.

NBA Twitter likes to bring up all these factoids in an attempt to generate buzz ahead of big games. But Richard Jefferson is not having it, judging from his posts on Twitter this morning.

Richard Jefferson shoots down concerns about Scott Foster refereeing an important Chris Paul game

Jefferson has been around the block for a long, long time. The man’s been to 4 NBA Finals, going all the way to a championship alongside LeBron in 2016.

RJ was also the benefactor of some questionable refereeing decisions that time around. But he still considers referees, and especially Scott Foster, to be unbiased until proven otherwise.

This was the sentiment he expressed on Twitter this morning, retweeting a post by Kenny Beecham after Game 3.
