Scott Foster makes his return to ref yet another Game 7 in these 2020 Playoffs. He previously refereed Game 7 between the Houston Rockets and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round.
Though the Rockets ended up winning that game, Houston fans took to social media to express their distaste for the NBA choosing Scott Foster to ref Game 7, before and after the game.
Scott Foster’s appointment as a referee for Game 7 has Celtics and Raptors fans expressing their concerns.
It was announced moments ago that Scott Foster will be refereeing tonight’s Game 7.

This caused an uproar by both Raptors fans and Celtics fans, with both fanbases claiming that Foster will help the other team win with ‘bogus calls’.
Celtics fans very upset with getting Scott Foster in G7 tonight. If the NBA wants the Celtics its a good thing he’s in there
Zarba is also the best under ref in the league besides Marc Davis

Celtics fans have a bit of history with Scott Foster as he has, in recent memory, called many soft calls against the Boston Celtics in the Playoffs. Most notably in the Game 4 of the2018 Semi-Finals against the Sixers where Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Marcus Morris all accumulated 5 fouls each.
Is Scott Foster a crooked referee?
Disgraced former NBA referee, Tim Donaghy basically confirmed that the NBA employs the help of senior refs to tilt the outcome of a game in a way that favours the NBA’s interests.
Here is former NBA referee Tim Donaghy admitting that the NBA purposely assigns certain refs to manipulate the outcome of games.
And it just so happens that Scott Foster is assigned to tonight’s Game 2 of Rockets vs Lakers. Almost like the NBA doesn’t even try to hide it anymore pic.twitter.com/Ficyb7va07

When it comes to the relationship between Foster and the Houston Rockets, there is definitely substantial evidence that Foster may be biased against them.
However, Scott Foster does not have a truly horrible reputation for poorly officiating games where the Raptors or Celtics play so it will be interesting to see how tonight’s game unfolds and what the fouls situation turns out to be.
