“Shaquille O’Neal Sleeping with my Ex”: Gilbert Arenas Reveals the Most Hurtful Free Throw Interruption of his Career

Shaquille O’Neal and his affairs, while he was married to Shaunie, are pretty well known. The Lakers legend was known for being involved with various women. In fact, in his book ‘Shaq Uncut,’ he even reasoned how he cheated because so many women threw themselves at him.

One of the women O’Neal allegedly cheated on Shaunie was Laura Govan. The former Basketball Wives cast member was married to the NBA players Gilbert Arenas at the time.

In addition to the impact it had on Shaunie, it also caused some horrible issues for Arenas. One of which he faced during a game against the Indiana Pacers. The story, though now funny, impacted Arenas’ performance.

In a recent episode of his podcast Gil’s Arena, the former Washington Wizards star opened up about how the alleged reports of the cheating scandal between Shaq and Laura led to him missing free throws.

In an episode of his podcast Gil’s Arena, one of the members asked Gilbert his most annoying free-throw interruption story. Arenas smiled slyly and revealed a story that very likely hurt him terribly during that time.

Arenas claimed that he was playing in Indiana around the time reports of his ex sleeping with Shaquille O’Neal came out. While he was at the free-throw line, he could hear two kids saying Shaq on repeat.

Apparently, they were also acting out really rude gestures to throw off Arenas. Naturally, this affected the 6ft 4″ star badly. He was way too distracted by the interruptions and ended up missing both free throws.

Arenas: “It was in Indiana. Shaq (Shaquille O’Neal) sleeping with my ex came out. I am at the free throw line and all I heard was ‘Shaq, Shaq, Shaq.’ That wasn’t the bad part. The bad part, there was two kids behind the bench doing this.” He continued, “I hit all backboard.”

Laura Govan denied claims that she was involved with Shaq

In 2011, Laura sat down with Loop 21 and discussed the rumors surrounding her alleged relationship with O’Neal. She refuted the rumors and claimed she had never been with Shaquille O’Neal.

According to Govan, she could never sleep with Shas after she saw him wearing sandals. She emphasized that though she loved the 7ft 1″ Lakers legend, she would never get involved with him. But to this date, most fans believe in the rumors. It’s hard to tell whether Shaq was actually involved with Laura or not but it definitely impacted everyone involved.
