"Shareef and I vs Scottie Pippen and His Son!": Shaquille O'Neal Issues $660,000 Challenge to the 6x NBA Champion

Shaquille O’Neal is a winner. The 7ft 1″ big man was winning when he was in high school, a winner at LSU, a winner in the NBA, and a winner at life. Eleven years after his retirement, Shaq still manages to create more buzz than most of the current-day NBA players can.

Apart from his time on Inside the NBA, Shaq also runs a podcast with TNT named The Big Podcast. Sitting with Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams, the big man talks about the happenings of the week, whether it was in the NBA, or in the world in general.

On the latest episode of the same, Spice was showing his daughter’s drawing, and talking about selling it for $100,000. Nischelle joked and said, “If Scottie can do it, so can you!”

This started a conversation about Scottie Pippens’ offer of being available for $330,000 a day.

Shaquille O’Neal doubles down and bets $660,000 on a two-on-two with Scottie Pippen

In Scottie Pippens’ ridiculous $330,000-a-day deal, he offers a two-on-two with himself and his son Scottie Pippen Jr. Along with that, guests get to have dinner with the Pippens and receive an autographed copy of his memoir, Unguarded.

Shaquille O’Neal heard this offer, and instantly wanted to take Scottie up on it. However, he wanted to do it only for the two-on-two.

“I’ll match him and me and Shareef will play against him and his son, and the winner takes that $666,000. Yeah, I said it. You heard what I said. I will match it and me and Shareef will play him and Scottie, best out of seven games. And the winner takes that $666,000.”

However, Shaq did put up a timeline for him to get ready. He said, “I’m going to need about seven months.”

How did Shaq fare against Scottie in his NBA career?

Having played his first four seasons in the East, Shaq and Scottie squared off a lot of times. With Pippen moving to the Blazers for the four seasons, Shaq’s Lakers again matched up quite a few times with Scottie’s Blazers.

In their career, the two matched up a total of 57 times, with Shaq having the upper hand with a 32-25 record. However, the most iconic Shaq vs Scottie moment was his alley-oop slam against the Blazers in Game 7 of the 2000 WCF.

While Shaq may have had the upper hand back then, can he still take on the 6x Champion and emerge victorious?
