Skip Bayless Gives LeBron James Horrible Back-Handed Compliment: "I'll Be Happy if Lakers Win the Championship"

Skip Bayless has long been known as one of the biggest LeBron James haters of all time. However, whether it be old age, or something else entirely, he does seem to have eased up just a little in the last few months, leading many to wonder if he actually is a fan of the man now. Due to this, the man was recently asked a rather peculiar question – Would he be happy if LeBron James and the Lakers won a title? And while his initial response was shockingly a yes, he soon explained his rationale. And things turned sour very quickly from there.

Skip Bayless admits he will be happy if LeBron James and the Lakers win another championship but for a very petty reason

It is no secret that Skip Bayless believes there is nobody on the face of the earth that could even get as close as the Earth is to the Sun, of comparing to Michael Jordan. And somehow, the double of that applies to LeBron James.

And yet, the man recently said that he’d be happy if LeBron James and the Lakers won a title this season. Before of course, he got right back to the petty side of himself we’ve all come to know and hate. Take a look at the tweet by Skip Bayless, to see what he did.

“Believe it or not, I will be very happy if LeBron and the Lakers win a championship this season. I explain my rationale here

Yes, I would (be happy if LeBron James and the Lakers win the title this year). That would mean Rob Pelinka would win a ring. And Rob Pelinka deserves Executive of the Year for all the big and little moves he made at the trade deadline that immediately turned around this team, and turned it back to a title contender. That would also mean that Darvin Ham would win a ring. I like Darvin Ham.

I know him a little bit, really good guy. And he is turning into a pretty good first year head coach, even though Twitter fires at him every time the Lakers lose. But if LeBron does win a ring this time, that would mean he rode Anthony Davis’s coattails all the way to a 5th ring.

Because it is becoming more and more clear the Lakers go only (as far as) AD (Davis) goes. So, the only reason I would be unhappy, if LeBron wins a ring, is because then I’d have to sit across the debate desk, morning after morning, from a grown man, across from me, wearing a goat mask.

That’s the only reason I’d be unhappy about this. No Mr. Sharpe, as in Shannon Sharpe. The GOAT debate was put out to pasture a long time ago. After so many epic LeBron Finals flameouts. It’s over, you’re disqualified.”

So, in other words, Skip Bayless tricked everyone. He made sure the quote they could see easily on the tweet was one that was beyond shocking and induced some serious clicks. When in reality, he was only going to give everyone a roundabout way of justifying it somehow not being a click-baiting title.

Admittedly, on some level, we have to respect the man’s utter shameless furthering of his own propaganda. However, in the end, it is really his opinion that is disqualified. After all, the man could never hope to delete his bias.
