“So Sad/Pathetic”: After Jimmy Butler’s Heat Demolish Knicks, Stephen A. Smith Faces the Ridicule of First Take’s Cast
Stephen A. Smith is probably the saddest man in Connecticut right now. After all, his New York Knicks were knocked out by Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat. And, while that is more than enough to dampen his mood, the ridicule he received from the First Take cast made things much worse.
Butler dismantled the Knicks, sending them back to Madison Square Garden in six games. The victory marked the second time in history that an eight-seeded team made it to the Conference Finals. A piece of history that no Knicks fan wanted to be a part of.
The same goes for Stephen A. Prior to the start of the series, Smith was confident his team will pull through. But now, with New York’s season finally over, he can once again go back to lamenting his beloved Knicks.
Stephen A. Smith can’t catch a break as the First Take cast roasts him following Knicks’ elimination
The New York Knicks saw an end to their Playoff run in Game 6 against the Miami Heat. The eighth seed proved too much, as Jimmy Butler and Co. sent the Knickerbockers back home to MSG.
But, while Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and RJ Barrett will be feeling bad about the exit, their displeasure doesn’t compare to that of Stephen A. Smith. The First Take analyst is one of the biggest Knicks fans in the world. Perhaps only second to legendary director Spike Lee.
To say that the Knicks’ elimination left him heartbroken would be an understatement. However, to make matters worse, the First Take cast, especially Molly Querim won’t stop roasting him. Going so far as to say he looks sad/pathetic for getting excited over the Knicks.
“I wanna make fun of you. But, it was almost so sad/pathetic how excited you were when they were actually winning, that I maybe feel this much bad. Like you were so over-enthused, you would have thought they won the Larry O’Brien. But, it was like a first round Playoff game. But, I just saw this joy and elation that I’ve never seen in you before, that I can’t even make fun of you right now!”

Clearly, the Knicks are putting a mental toll on Smith. He’s desperate to see the team win, and he wants changes now. Preferably, in the form of Damian Lillard.
Stephen A. would love to see Damian Lillard in a Knicks jersey
After their second-round elimination, it’s clearly obvious that the Knicks need to work on their roster. While Jalen Brunson has been an absolute bucket, the same cannot be said for the rest of the team. As such, every Knicks fan, including Stephen A. Smith would like to see some changes.
And, for Stephen A. the ideal addition to the squad would be none other than restless Portland Trailblazers superstar Damian Lillard.

Of course, he’s not fixated on Dame Dolla, and if a deal is impossible, he’d settle for Karl-Anthony Towns. But, one thing is certain. He wants to see change and he wants to see it happen now.
