“Steph Curry is playing more like Wardell against the Lakers”: Skip Bayless predicts the Warriors get blown out by 20 against LeBron James and co in the play in tournament
Skip Bayless firmly believes that Steph Curry and the Warriors won’t make any noise against the LeBron James and the Lakers.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has always looked to ‘spice’ things up in the regular season. Whether it’s a mid-season tournament or the play in tournament, Silver grew tired of the latter half of the regular season being a drag and losing viewership. Fast-forward to today and the NBA got it’s dream matchup for its first ever play in tournament with Steph Curry facing off and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Steph Curry has willed the Warriors in Playoff contention all season, all while facing defenses that doubled him as soon as he crossed the half-court line. Along with claiming the scoring title for the second time in his career, Curry has also produced the most free flowing offense within the NBA this season, as the Warriors rank first in assists per game.
However, when it comes to a one game situation like the play in, it’s highly unlikely that Curry will be looking to pass to Kent Bazemore or Kevon Looney at a high frequency.
Skip Bayless predicts a Steph Curry flameout against the Lakers tomorrow.
In one of the more rare occasions of the NBA season, Skip Bayless seems to be siding with his co-host Shannon Sharpe on tomorrow’s game and believes the Lakers with LeBron James will beat the Warriors by 20+ points. He also predicts a Steph Curry flameout in the game, claiming the Lakers have guarded him extremely well throughout the season.
Steph is raining threes on everybody this year, except the Lakers. Three times against the Lakers he played more like Wardell than Steph. More @Undisputed, now on FS1 https://t.co/MQSlABweTR

Skip isn’t wrong here as the stats back up what he’s saying. LeBron James has been one of the best perimeter defenders this season and Frank Vogel’s defense ranks top 3 in the NBA for guarding the opposing team’s 3 pointers.
Steph Curry has also, famously, not performed well against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center in recent memory. It’s safe to say that the 3x NBA champ has a lot to carry on his shoulders when going uo against the purple and gold tomorrow night.
