Stephen Curry Gives One-Word Answer About Relationship With LeBron James Over $470,000,000+ NBA Career

Stephen Curry’s new documentary ‘Underrated’ is now available for streaming on Apple TV. The documentary features unseen footage from his career, including LeBron James coming to watch Steph play at Davidson. In an interview with Robin Lundberg, while promoting his documentary, Curry describes his and LBJ’s relationship as ‘complex.’ From watching a young Steph Curry doing wonders for his college team to facing him in four NBA Finals, LeBron and Steph have come a long way. Stephen Curry has earned over $470,000,000 from his NBA career, including two $200,000,000 deals.

While fans have always compared Steph Curry and LeBron James’ careers, many fail to realize that James acted as a mentor for Curry in his rookie season. Despite being rivals, the duo have immense respect for each other. LeBron James unequivocally considers Curry to be the finest shooter in the league. The duo have faced each other in four straight NBA Finals and last season’s playoffs.

Stephen Curry describes his relationship with LeBron James in ‘one word’

Stephen Curry’s new Apple TV documentary ‘Underrated’ shows his incredible journey to being one of the greatest sharpshooters ever. The documentary covers Steph’s journey from being an undersized college basketball player to a four-time NBA champion.

The documentary includes a clip of then-emerging superstar LeBron James visiting Davidson to watch young Stephen Curry. This was the beginning of a relationship that would mark one of the greatest rivalries in NBA history. Describing his relationship with LBJ, Steph told Robin Lundberg that it’s ‘complex.’

“It’s complex. Because you go from playing in the tournament, him coming to watch, to me coming in as a young rookie in the league and give me advice on how to get through some of the early struggles that I was gonna go through as a player, to the four Finals appearances in a row playing against each other, to even last year playing in the Playoffs again. So, he’s great dude, great friend, great competitor. It’s amazing to go back and look at where it all started.”

Indeed, Stephen Curry and LeBron James have established themselves to be the pinnacle among players the league currently has to offer. In 2022, Steph signed a 4-year deal with the Warriors worth $215,353,664. From this contract, Curry will earn a base salary of $51, 915,615 in the 2023-24 season. Curry’s current contract lasts till 2026, following which he will be eligible for free agency.

Curry had one of the most unusual rises for an NBA athlete

When Steph Curry started looking to play professionally, his abilities were downplayed by several coaches and college scouts. Curry had a lean figure and unconventionally shorter height, which raised doubts about his capabilities. However, he rose through all such animosities, proving his doubters wrong with his potential.

‘Underrated’ as a documentary, portrays the beautiful and unusual rise of Stephen Curry to glory in the league. Chef Curry might not be the most athletic player one might expect conventionally. However, his sharpshooting skills and intelligence during crucial games have helped his team clutch several important victories. Curry is an excellent asset for the Warriors, who owe him their recent four championships since his draft in 2009.
