“Stephen Curry is out of Olympic team consideration”: Steve Kerr chuckles while revealing Gregg Popovich’s message for him after Warriors beat Spurs
Steve Kerr shares how Stephen Curry got himself uninvited for the USA Olympic team, as Greg Popovich joked after their game last night.
The Golden State Warriors settled their score with the San Antonio Spurs tonight. After losing a close 105-100 contest to them last night, the Warriors bounced back strong and beat the Spurs 114-91.
Stephen Curry led the charge once again, as he scored 32 points, going 11 of 20 from the field. Along with Curry, there were 6 other Warriors in double digits tonight. Kelly Oubre had a 12 point, 10 rebounds double-double. The Spurs didn’t look the same squad they were last night. They lacked the defensive intensity, which ultimately affected their offense.
“Stephen Curry is no longer invited to the USA Basketball camp”: Gregg Popovich to Steve Kerr
After the game, Spurs’ Head Coach Greg Popovich had a message for Stephen Curry that he delivered to Steve Kerr. While talking to the media post-game, Steve Kerr shared what the message was.
Kerr shared while chuckling that Pop had been considering Steph for the USA Olympic team, but not anymore. He says after the way Steph embarrassed his Spurs tonight, he’s out of consideration.
Kerr, with a chuckle, said Popovich had a message for him postgame: “He told me after the game that he had been considering Steph for the Olympic team, but he said after the way Steph embarrassed him tonight he’s no longer in consideration.” Ha.

Stephen Curry has been absolutely phenomenal. He scored 32 points in both the encounters against the Spurs on the back-to-back. Tonight Steph was scoring at will. He was toying with the Spurs’ defense and attacking the paint whenever he felt like it.

The way Steph has been playing this season, he is definitely one of the top candidates in the MVP conversation. With tonight’s win, the Warriors improve to a 13-12 record and hold the 8th spot in the West.
