"Stephen Curry Vs Seth Curry Was Horrible": Sonya Curry Admitted To Crying Out Of Stress After Her Sons' WCF Battle

Stephen Curry’s elder brother Seth Curry came up against him in the 2019 NBA Western Conference Finals. The two brothers grew up playing basketball together due to their father. Dell Curry had a successful NBA career and finished as the highest point-scorer in Charlotte Hornets’ history. Years later, the two came up against each other in the NBA Playoffs, leading to their mother stressing out.

Dell and Sonya Curry revealed in their “Raising Fame” podcast that they were stressed out. Sonya in particular was happy when the series ended and was left in tears due to the stress. Seth Curry’s NBA career might have been largely eclipsed by his brother’s success. However, he is also a top-class shooter who has proved himself for multiple teams over the years.

Sonya Curry cried when her sons faced off in the 2019 Western Conference Finals

During the series, Sonya was snapped wearing both of her sons’ jerseys at different points in time. There is little doubt that the experience proved to be quite stressful for the mother of 3.

Apart from Seth and Steph, the couple also has a daughter named Sydel. The Conference Finals eventually ended 4-0 in the Warriors’ favor, with Curry leading the way for his team. Regardless, once the series was over, Sonya found herself buried in her daughter’s shoulders:

“It was absolutely horrible. Don’t get me wrong. It was such a blessing to have both of my kids on stage. I know it was fun for them, as siblings. As parents, when that buzzer went off and the series got over, I cried. It wasn’t just about them competing. My daughter walked up to me and was all like, “oh yeah,” and I buried my head in her shoulders. Thank god it was over.”

Stephen Curry and Warriors swept Seth Curry’s Portland Trail Blazers

The series eventually ended 4-0 after Stephen Curry went off. He averaged 36.5 points in 4 games and helped his team to an easy Conference Finals victory.

On the other hand, Seth also had moments to remember. While he failed to make an impact for large stretches of the series, the elder Curry made good use of the limited time he had.

In game 2, he enjoyed a hot streak from beyond the arc, scoring 4 of his 7 3-point attempts. Coming off the bench, Seth scored 16 points and had 4 assists.

The performance obviously did little to change the overall result of the series. However, with their parents watching on from the stands, Seth would have been delighted to have had his moment as well.
