Taking Inspiration For $291,000,000 Blockbuster, Shaquille O'Neal Insisted On Not Being The Smartest Man In His Business Dealings

Shaquille O’Neal has made a name for himself among the big names in the money market. He has made investments in almost 50 big and small companies. The former Los Angeles Lakers star has built up a fortune of $400 million from his business and NBA salary. Moreover, since Shaq started to make money, he has been very clear in his investment strategies. However, he said that one of the business strategies that he learned from The Godfather movies was to invest in smart people. A blockbuster that grossed approximately $291,000,000 worldwide, the movie taught O’Neal valuable lessons.

Shaq didn’t invest in Starbucks because the company was trying to do something that Shaq didn’t believe in. The four-time NBA champion has previously added that he doesn’t like the product and that there is almost no chance that he might invest in it. Moreover, he also wants to understand the product before investing in it. Unless understanding and liking the product are fulfilled, there is ‘no chance’ that Big Diesel will invest in the product.

Shaquille O’Neal took business inspiration from The Godfather movie

DJ Diesel believes in delegation rather than micromanaging when it comes to his business strategies. He remarked that one can’t do everything and worry about business all the time, and that’s why delegation is important. Delegating tasks to people you trust when it comes to decisions regarding your business is the key factor. According to Shaq, one has to be educated enough to understand.

However, one of the best lessons that Shaq learned in business was investing in people who were smarter than you. Being a businessman doesn’t mean you have expertise in everything. Here is what his comments on the matter were, as per ‘Entrepreneur‘

“Another key factor here is hiring people who are smarter than you, so you can rely on their knowledge and expertise. It’s worth investing in the right people — so be ready to make an offer they can’t refuse (a tip that Shaquille said he picked up from The Godfather).”

According to him, the best part of investing in smart and right people is that you have someone on whose knowledge you can depend, something that continues to aid him to this day.

Shaquille O’Neal gives a perennial tip for investing in stock

Shaq was a feared dominant force in the league, and today he has become a businessman with the calmness of a flowing river in the valley. He recently gave excellent advice regarding investment.

According to Shaq, it is always a good idea to invest in big companies and one should buy stocks rather than products. According to O’Neal, companies like Apple and Google are too big to fail, and hence they will stay in the market forever.

If someone invests in these big companies, their money will always be safe. However, Shaq also said that he has learned to invest in varieties from people like Warren Buffet. The key is to invest in companies that are going up, but a person needs to have the appetite for that. Certainly, Big Aristotle has gained wisdom from the best in the market.
