The Men’s USA Basketball team grab their first win of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, after blowing out Iran 120-66.

Entering the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the USA’s men’s basketball team was considered to be the strongest and deadliest team on paper. However, Rudy Gobert and his France team managed to stun Kevin Durant and co. after handing the USA their first Olympic loss since 2004.

The USA team filled with All-Stars and future Hall-Of-Famers definitely needed to bounce back after such a loss, and boy did they play well in their second game. On Wednesday, Gregg Popovic’s guys faced against the Iranian team, who had also suffered a loss in their first game against the Czech Republic.

As soon as the game started, the Americans were looking way too dominant and a lot like themselves, unlike the previous game. After grabbing a comfortable 30-point lead at the half, Team USA went on to blow Iran out 120-66 to finish out the game, grabbing their first win of the 2020 Olympic campaign.

This win would be a huge morale booster for Team USA, after suffering a disappointing loss against France. The United States will hope to keep up this type of dominant gameplay while blowing out all their opponents as expected out of them. The Czech Republic will be the USA’s next and final opponent in the group stage of the event.
